I understand that this is the type of article no bride or groom wants to read because we all want the weather to be perfect for our wedding. Often, we don't even want to think about the possibility that something could go wrong. But unfortunately, we have to discuss less pleasant things too. To be prepared.
"It’s something when a couple wants to dive into our knowledge base and is ready to plan their elopement with us. I like that! Hi, how are you doing today?"

planned 300 elopements in Paris
Paris does not have a specific rainy season where it rains consistently for weeks at a time. Instead, rain in Paris can happen randomly on any day of the year. Showers are often brief and unpredictable. Whether you're eloping in spring, summer, fall, or winter, a light rain can appear at any time. Well, it less likely to rain in June or July, but...still can happen.

We'll do our best to reschedule your elopement to ensure you get the best possible photos because we're here for you. If there's a chance, we'll choose the best day available and move. However, during busy months from April to November, our schedule fills up quickly due to the high number of couples booking with us, and we're often fully booked with no openings. So if it rains we will do our best to move the date, but we do not promise our availability.
Another challenge is that while Paris doesn’t have a dedicated rainy season, it can sometimes rain for an entire week. Imagine your elopement date is approaching, and the forecast shows rain every day—where would we reschedule even if we had a free date? While a week of constant rain is rare, it still might happen.
Can we reschedule the date?
Sometimes rescheduling might not be possible
There are some options, but it's not a guaranteed solution as you might think. Many planners hold ceremonies at the Louvre gallery, for example. It sounds nice in theory to have a ceremony under a roof for free, but imagine this: on a rainy day, there are tons of tourists at the Louvre. Where do you think they will go to escape the rain? Exactly—right into the same gallery.
Can we hide somewhere under the roof?
Crowds of tourists will hide from the rain in those same spots as well
Many clients believe that as planners, we have a backup indoor location, like a ballroom, that we can access at the last minute if rain is forecasted 2-3 days before the elopement. Unfortunately, no. We don’t have emergency indoor spaces available for ceremonies on short notice; we only work with public locations. Securing a backup venue is the couple's responsibility, and we recommend arranging this in advance.
do you as planners have something?
Based on our 12 years of experience planning elopements in Paris, here’s what we recommend:
- Book a backup venue, like a nice hotel or a spacious Airbnb, hoping for the best while preparing for the worst.
- If the weather is great, we proceed as planned. If not, we can move the ceremony to your place, perhaps next to a cozy fireplace.
- For the photoshoot, we’ll take pictures at locations like cafés and galleries that have cover.
Having a plan B doesn’t mean you need to book a luxurious ballroom. It can be a larger hotel room, and you can find budget-friendly options on platforms like Booking or Airbnb that will work perfectly for your needs :
