REAL COUPLES AND THEIR ELOPEMENTS
CHELSEA AND EVAN
TUILERIES CEREMONY WITH NINE GUESTS: A HAPPY AND FUN DAY FOR THE COUPLE FROM CHICAGO
SEPTEMBER ELOPEMENT
Planning and photography by Tim
Story by Helene
Chelsea and Evan have been together for 10 years, and they felt that eloping to Paris with their closest family was the right thing they would like to do. We helped the couple plan the day exactly as they envisioned. Here is Chelsea and Evan's story.
Helene: "Bonjour all the beautiful, adventurous, and ambitious ladies, our wonderful brides who are exploring this article. And our respect to the intelligent handsome future grooms. Hope you have a good time reading this case study. Let's begin!"
MEET CHELSEA AND EVAN
Together for 10 years
Meet Chelsea and Evan from Chicago, Illinois. They love trying new foods and exploring cities. They love to travel together.
Since they were kids, they've dreamed of revisiting Paris together. Evan proposed to Chelsea in April 2023 with a sweet picnic surrounded by memories. "After me saying YES, we celebrated the proposal by enjoying one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago." - Chelsea
Now, they're getting ready for their Parisian elopement, where they'll tie the knot against the backdrop of the Tuileries. Join them on their magical journey to say "I do" in the city of love.
WHAT CHELSEA AND EVAN ENVISIONED
"Why we decided to elope? We've been together for 10 years, and eloping just felt like the right way to do it, with just our closest family. Paris has always been a dream for us, and we're excited to explore the city together for 10 days, indulging in bakeries and food stops along the way." - shared Evan.
Chelsea was so excited to plan her dream wedding trip, she said: "The overall feel of our wedding is elegant, refined, modern, timeless, and fun. We have 9 guests. We are getting married in Paris and are excited about having that as the backdrop."
OUR CHALLENGE
For Do it Paris Way, the challenge was to plan a special wedding for Evan and Chelsea and their Tuileries ceremony for 9 guests. They wanted their wedding to be elegant and fun, with a mix of traditional and new ideas.
"We want the day to be full of love, laughter, and smiles!" said Chelsea.
WEATHER IN PARIS IN SEPTEMBER
Tuileries in September
In September, Paris starts to cool down after summer, but it's still pretty nice. Temperatures range from around 15°C to 22°C (59°F to 72°F). It's a good time to wander around the city without getting too hot or too cold. Rains are not heavy and end pretty fast.
CHELSEA'S BRIDAL LOOK
A final selfie before saying YES to the dress
Chelsea shared a story about how she realized that her wedding style should be formal and modern.
"Sarah Seven is a boutique and has a flagship store in our city, Chicago. I fell in love with them when I first saw their tagline on their Instagram, 'Wedding gowns that look like something you'd actually wear.' I was on a hunt for a timeless wedding dress that felt very 'me' simple, elegant, with beautiful minimalistic details. I went dress shopping with my mom and sister, and this was the first place we went. I absolutely loved my stylist. She made me feel so confident and beautiful in each gown I tried on (gowns that felt beautifully constructed and made). As soon as I tried on the one-shoulder dress, I knew it was the one!" shared Chelsea, being very happy with her decision. It was all coming together.
After she had her dream dress, she decided that the overall feel of her elopement should be elegant, refined, and modern. And she chose hair, makeup, and flowers that matched her style.
What Chelsea wanted and what we created
Chelsea looked absolutely stunning as a bride. She glowed with happiness, lighting up the whole city with her energy. She shines! Every step she took exuded grace and elegance, making everyone around her feel the magic of the moment.

Chelsea is breathtaking as a bride
"My tip for ladies who begin to style their perfect bridal look would be to search online for inspiration photos that you love and save them as a reference. Then, pick a detail you want to carry through your bridal look. For me, it was pearls. From my earrings to my veil and shoes, I chose pieces that subtly incorporated a pearl detail. I think having a subtle common detail helps make your bridal style look cohesive." shared Chelsea.
For a bridal look is elegant and modern, focus on selecting a dress that resonates with your personal style. Accessories are your opportunity to inject personality into your look.
"If you love your bridal look, you'll feel so confident and beautiful on your day," shared Chelsea.
MEET THE HANDSOME GROOM, EVAN
Evan was wearing a formal black tuxedo. A tuxedo like this one is perfect for a Paris elopement because it is neutral and classic. Plus, the sleek black color complements the romantic atmosphere of the city, adding a touch of luxury to the occasion. A true gentleman.

TIMELINE OF THE DAY
When the couple selects the Tuileries ceremony location, we adapt our schedule by doing the photoshoot first. This adjustment is necessary because the Tuileries gardens opens later in the day, and to capture the perfect Eiffel Tower photos in optimal lighting conditions and without any crowds, we begin right at sunrise.
The Tuileries ceremony is always the last event of the elopement day.
Plus, it allows the guests to have extra time to sleep and get ready. Here is a timeline that Tim sent to our group Whatsapp chat 2 days before the elopement:
5 AM: Makeup artist Yana is coming for bridal hair and makeup to the couple's Airbnb.
7:10 AM: Pickup by Tim. Paris photoshoot begins:
-
River Seine
-
Eiffel Balcony, Avenue de Camoens
-
Louvre
-
Gallery (an additional purchased location)
9:30 AM Meeting the guests at the Tuileries. The ceremony begins.
After-ceremony: Family photos and champagne.
Driving back to their aribnb
PARIS PHOTOSHOOT
In the elopement package Chelsea booked, we include 3 locations in Paris, plus ceremony photos. Chelsea purchased 1 extra location. The photography that comes with our packages is location-based rather than hourly-based. They were at peace of mind knowing that the locations they expected to capture would come out perfect without the risk of receiving an overtime invoice in case the day ran late due to bad traffic or weather.
Tim found the best angles and poses for Chelsea and Evan, guiding and giving directions while leaving plenty of room for Chelsea, Evan, and their loved ones to pose and have fun.
Chelsea shared her photoshoot vision: "Our highest priority is capturing photos that show our happiness and show off the iconic landscape of Paris."
Chelsea and Evan, along with their photographer Tim and assistant Olga, started their photoshoot early morning by the River Seine, with the Eiffel Tower in the background. The River Seine and the Eiffel Tower looked magical at sunrise. It's a great place for wedding photos:

Chelsea and Evan then got into Tim's car and together drove to the Eiffel Balcony on Avenue de Camoens. This spot has a great street view of the Eiffel Tower. The morning light made it a perfect, romantic spot:

Tim took care of the logistics and driving. The couple got picked up at their aribnb and could just relax right away. Car was with Chelsea and Evan the whole time. After the Paris street, everyone drove to the Louvre:

What a beautiful couple!
Chelsea and Evan left the Louvre, their last photo spot in Paris. They were happy but now felt something more. Walking to their wedding, they were nervous yet excited. They looked at each other, feeling a strong bond. Every step took their fear away, making them feel closer. They weren’t just taking photos, they were starting a new chapter. Together, they felt ready for anything.
A FATHER WALKING HIS DAUGHTER DOWN THE AISLE
Dad held Chelsea's hand, guiding her down the aisle in the Tuileries. Chelsea's heart was full of overwhelming love. Dad was proud yet felt a gentle sadness. As they walked, both cherished this tender moment, feeling the deep bond between them. It was a small, perfect moment, remembered forever.

CHELSEA AND EVAN ARE GETTING MARRIED AT TUILERIES
Chelsea and Evan stood together in the Tuileries Gardens, under the open sky, with 9 guests around them. They exchanged rings, showing their endless love. Their vows were promises to always be together, simple but powerful. When they said "I do," it wasn't just words, it was a promise from their hearts. Everyone felt the love, a mix of happiness and tears. The ceremony was performed by Olga.

After the champagne toast, Chelsea, Evan, and their guests gathered for family group photos. It was a relaxed session, with everyone naturally grouping together, smiles wide and genuine. Tim captured various combinations, from the entire group to smaller family parts.

RESTAURANT
"A ceremony in the beautiful Tuileries Garden followed by a Michelin-starred reception with our families—our dream day!" - Chelsea booked a dinner to celebate.
Although we were not present since our job ends after the photoshoot is over, Chelsea sent us her beautiful photos and recommendations. Pavillon Ledoyen is Yannick Alléno 3-star restaurant in Paris.
One of the oldest and classiest restaurants in Paris
Pavillon Ledoyen is a historic restaurant located in the gardens near the Champs-Élysées in Paris. It's famous for its French food. People love its beautiful setting and classy atmosphere.
"It was a great spot to celebrate with our guests after an amazing day!" - the couple shared happy memories.
PHOTO EDITING
For Chelsea and Evan's elopement photos, here is what we did during editing:
1) First, we adapted the photo colors to match Chelsea's perfect color scheme, aligning with her being a summer color type in our opinion. A woman with a summer color palette typically looks best in soft, muted tones that reflect the gentle warmth of the season. She has light brown hair, peach skin. These colors complement her natural coloring, bringing out the softness and depth of her features without overwhelming them. We edited photos so the colors are bright but soft, not too contrasted, light and airy.
A color type called "summer"
2) We also removed any people or trash from the background of the photos. This way, the focus is all on Chelsea and Evan's special moments, with nothing else getting in the way. The photos now look clean:
We removed people from behind

THE TEAM
The team that worked together with Chelsea and Evan:
Tim, elopement planning and photography
"My goal was to plan a stress-free day for the couple. I did the timeline, logistics, and itinerary. Taking photos of Chelsea and Evan was really fun. They love each other so much, and it showed in every picture. The Tuileries Garden made everything look even more beautiful."
Helene, communication with the couple and flowers, and putting together this article
"Making the flowers for the wedding was great, I picked the best white roses in Paris. Each rose was 9 euros for a flower which is a sign of a luxury product, so Chelsea had a quality bouquet that she deserved! We made sure everything was just right for their big day. They trusted me to help, and it turned out great. I'm happy for them and wish them lots of happiness."
Yana, bridal hair and makeup @makeupparisyana
"I did Chelsea's makeup to look natural, elegant. Styling Chelsea's hair, she chose a sleek updo, for her wedding was about making her feel beautiful in a simple, elegant way. She looked amazing!"
Olga, ceremony Officiant and assistant during the photoshoot
"Being part of Chelsea and Evan's wedding was special. Their vows were so heartfelt. It was beautiful to see them promise to love each other forever in such a peaceful place. I hope their future is just as wonderful. My favorite moment of the day was the dad walking his princess down the aisle..."
